Set in the heart of a Christmas tree farm (yes, really!), their intimate Friday wedding was surrounded by rows of evergreens, rustic barn charm, and the people who love them most. It was simple, sweet, and effortlessly romantic—just like them.

Kacena Farms in Vinton, Iowa is one of those venues I never get tired of shooting. No matter the season, it’s always gorgeous—but summer weddings here? Absolutely glow. From the evergreens surrounding the ceremony space to the dreamy beams of the open-air barn, this place has a vibe that’s equal parts rustic, elegant, and a little bit whimsical.

The separate bridal and groom suites are such a thoughtful touch. Makenna and Jacob were able to get ready, laugh with their people, and share the pre-ceremony anticipation—without seeing each other until that emotional walk to their first look.


Two Pups, One Job (Kind Of)

Their dogs, Cooper and Colter, totally stole the show as ring bearers—even if they did take a slightly scenic route down the aisle. 😂 They made it (eventually), rings intact, and brought the biggest smiles with them.
