Iowa Engagement session

Romantic Evening in the Country

On a gorgeous early summer evening in Iowa, Kailey and Ben invited me to drive up to their farm in Northern Iowa to document their engagement session. Upon my arrival, it was clear to see Kailey and Ben love their animals. There were dogs who immediately greeted me with friendly wags, horses and a goat named, Frank.

They had quite the entourage with them to shuttle us around as they had multiple locations on their property they wanted to shoot at. Myself, Kailey's mom, grandma (a.k.a- Mimi) and Ben's mom all loaded up in one pickup and Kailey and Ben in another and we headed off to the first location by the Cedar River about a 10 minute drive on one of Ben's family farms.

Cotton Candy Skies

Once we arrived to the river, we all quickly realized the mosquitoes were out for blood, so we made that spot as quick as possible, for everyone's sake. We then found a pasture on the ride back with the beautiful sunset peeking through the trees. Kailey and Ben danced and trotted and shared some intimate snuggles here before we moved on and shot in another pasture where a herd of their cows were hanging out.

Back at Kailey and Ben's farm, they got their horses tacked up and we headed into the sunset. They ended their session riding their horses, dancing in the field with all their animals around them and the most beautiful cotton candy colored sunset behind them.
