Welcoming a new baby into your home is both magical and tender, and it’s completely normal to wonder what a newborn photo session will really feel like. Lifestyle newborn photography is designed to be relaxed, flexible, and baby-led—capturing genuine connections and everyday moments in the place where your family’s story is just beginning. I will be going over my 6 must-have, go-to poses I do at every in-home newborn session with a link to my newborn Pinterest board as well.

In the Crib and In Front of the Crib


We love to show off nursery details and the authenticity of life with a newborn. I love asking mamas to lower baby into the crib then taking photos of baby through the bars. We will sit with baby on the floor in front of the crib. I love getting this photo both straight on, from an overhead angle and if possible, from a doorway angle.

Tiny fingers and toes are some of the sweetest details of the newborn stage. Mama's Love

A Session Built Around Your Family


A lifestyle newborn session in your home is designed to be calm, natural, and completely centered around your family. There’s no pressure for perfection—your only job is to love on your baby. I’ll gently guide you through simple, comfortable poses while allowing plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and snuggling. Your home becomes the perfect backdrop, filled with meaning and familiarity, helping everyone feel relaxed and at ease.

If you’re feeling a little nervous, that’s completely normal—but know that everything will fall into place. Babies lead the way, and we move at their pace. This post is meant to give you a sense of what to expect and the beautiful moments we’ll capture together.
